Manchester Airport pickups: flight details, meeting points and waiting time
Landing is only one part of getting home. You still have the walk through arrivals, any border checks and your bags to collect. Here is what to get right when arranging the ride back to Lancashire or Yorkshire.
Book with the arriving flight number
The detail we need is the flight bringing you into Manchester. It lets us monitor the arrival when you include it in the booking. A departure city alone is less precise when several flights are arriving from the same place.
Check the landing date as well. If you left your holiday destination the previous evening, your collection may need to be booked for the following day. Use the terminal on your current flight information rather than assuming it is the same one you used on the outward trip.
Landing does not mean you are ready at the pickup point
There can be time between the aircraft landing and you leaving arrivals. Getting off the plane, passport checks and baggage reclaim all come before meeting the driver. Manchester Airport’s live arrivals page is useful for checking the flight’s status and terminal.
Keep your phone available once you can use it, and follow the collection instructions for your booking. If you are unsure where to go, confirm the meeting point rather than heading to a different part of the airport and hoping to find the vehicle.
What Terminal Link’s waiting time includes
Terminal Link airport pickups include 45 minutes of free waiting from your flight’s landing, under the booking terms. That timing starts from landing, not from when you reach the exit.
The optional £10 Waiting Time Cover adds up to 60 minutes after those included 45 minutes. It does not cover a no-show or waiting beyond that additional hour. Read the waiting terms when booking so you know what is included.
Decide whether you want Meet & Greet
On eligible bookings, Meet & Greet costs £20 and means the driver meets you inside arrivals with a name board. It is a separate option from Waiting Time Cover.
If you have not selected Meet & Greet, use the meeting arrangements supplied for your collection. Do not assume that a driver will be waiting inside the terminal or at a departure drop-off point.
Use a contact number that will work after landing
If you are booking for someone else, check that the contact number belongs to a person travelling and can be answered at Manchester. For a family or group, it helps to know who will keep that phone to hand.
Before the day, check the return destination too. A journey back to a hotel, office or different home address should show that address in the booking. If your plans change, use My Bookings to submit a request and wait for approval.
